This week, I had the pleasure of attending the Compass SoCal Luxury Summit at the stunning Bacara Resort in Santa Barbara—a spectacular two-day experience filled with inspiration, insight, and connection. A few times each year, Compass brings together its elite network of top luxury agents from across the country for intimate, high-impact gatherings. This year’s summit was no exception.

A Gathering of the Best in Luxury Real Estate

The event brought together some of the sharpest minds in luxury real estate—colleagues, market leaders, and powerhouse agents who continue to shape the high-end market in California and beyond. From roundtable discussions to dynamic panels, we shared strategies, challenges, and success stories that only this level of collaboration can offer.

Throughout the summit, we heard from incredible speakers, each offering their own golden nuggets of wisdom. We dove deep into market data, lifestyle trends, and the evolving expectations of today’s luxury buyer. These insights are invaluable as I continue to curate, stage, design, and market exceptional homes for my clients.

Understanding Today’s Luxury Buyer

One of the most fascinating sessions centered around the ultra-high-net-worth buyer—their mindset, their motivations, and what truly differentiates a property at the top tier. From wellness-driven amenities to legacy-style estates, demand continues to evolve. Staying ahead of these shifts is essential for guiding clients—both buyers and sellers—through a competitive landscape.

We also explored emerging luxury markets and new developments, including a buzz-worthy project by the Four Seasons in Telluride, Colorado. These insights give us a broader perspective on where affluent clients are investing and how lifestyle trends are reshaping luxury destinations.

Touring Montecito, Carpinteria & Santa Barbara

On the second day, we had the opportunity to tour a curated selection of exquisite homes in Montecito, Carpinteria, and Santa Barbara. These tours are always a highlight—walking through truly exceptional homes, seeing design trends firsthand, and discussing architectural concepts with fellow agents is both inspiring and energizing. The craftsmanship and artistry in these estates remind me why I love doing what I do.

What I appreciate most about these Compass events is the level of intimacy and authenticity. They’re not massive conferences—they’re thoughtfully curated, personal experiences where relationships are strengthened and collaboration thrives.
