The Rancho Santa Fe Farms

Rancho Santa Fe Farms Guard-gated golf community of 95 homes, ranging from 5000-8000 sq. ft.. Lot sizes are 1⁄2 acre-1 acre. Built around the Rancho Santa Fe Farms Golf Course, designed by Peter Dye and redesigned by Tom Lehman, this 127-acre, 6960 yard course is one of the most exclusive championship country clubs, attracting members who require privacy.

The Farms Rancho Santa Fe is a gated community, with 24-hour security and guarded entry.  Homesites on the area are on lots ranging in size from ½ to 2+ acres.  The houses were built in the 1980s and 1990s, though many of the homes at The Farms have been extensively remodeled or rebuilt since that time.  There are 112 homes in the community at prices from the low $2 Million Range up to almost $8 Million.

The Farms is a neighborhood that attracts serious golf enthusiasts.  There are families with children at The Farms RSF, but many of the residents are retirees and empty-nesters who take golf very seriously. According to the club administration at The Farms, the average age of members at the golf club is 56, with an average handicap of 12.

The homes that line the fairways at Rancho Santa Fe Farms range in size from around 4,000 to 9,000 square feet.  The houses are mostly the Mediterranean or California Contemporary in style, with single-story and two-story floor plans.  Almost all of the homes in The Farms community have views of the golf course, and all have views of the natural beauty of this region.

Upon consultation with PGA Tour professional Tom Lehman and golf course architect John Fought, The Farms Golf Course was redesigned in 2000-2001 by reconstructing the greens, hole locations, bunkers, irrigation systems. The course is now state-of-the-art while maintaining the championship qualities that members expect.

Membership to The Farms Golf Club is by invitation only.  This is a golf-only community.  There are no other amenities such as tennis courts or community swimming pools.  Serious golfers only need to apply!

The Farms in Rancho Santa Fe is part of the Solana Beach Unified and San Dieguito Unified School Districts. Children in the neighborhood attend Solana Santa Fe Elementary, followed by Early Warren Middle and Torrey Pines High in Carmel Valley.
